Colonel Leland “Robo Cop” McMaster, 57, a native and resident of Grand Isle, La., died Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at 11:27 p.m.

He is survived by his companion, Annette Shamlin; one son, Michael McMaster; two daughters, Angie and Dana McMaster; five stepdaughters; three brothers; one sister; and 11 grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Irene McMaster.

Leland was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was a member of the F.O.P. He was a master jeweler and loved to fish. He was a D.A.R.E. Advisor and a Police Officer with the Grand Isle Police Department.

Visitation is Saturday, September 15, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Our Lady of the Isle Catholic Church. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
