Connie Cordre Dugas, 70, a native of Texas and resident of Houma, La., died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

Mrs. Dugas was a loving wife, mother and “Granny”. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and had a heart of gold. She was a retired nurse and often told stories that showed her passion for caring for others. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, but all who knew her, know she is in heaven and at peace.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Dugas; children, Mike (Jennifer) Dugas and Sandee (Frank) Ellender; seven grandchildren, Dawn (Dustin) Henry, Sara (Nathaniel) Guidry, Kami Ellender, Angie Dugas, Carly Ellender, and Sean and Evan Dugas; four great-grandchildren, Drake, Tren, Leighton and Fynlie; sisters, Zonell Walton and Martha Guidry; and six nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, “Polly” and James Chandler and Cordelius Cordre.

A special thank you for all the prayers and support over the last few months. The family would also like to thank her doctors and the staff at Terrebonne General fro the wonderful care she received. (Samart)
