Conrad Joseph Stagni, 82, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died peacefully at home in his sleep, Saturday, May 23.


He is survived by three sons, Lee and wife, Kathy, and daughter Melissa of Plymouth, Minn., David and his son Sean, Sean’s wife, Susan and their son, Jack all of Thibodaux, and Kenneth and wife, Marcella of Jacksonville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Lee Stagni; his parents, Antoine and Lena Stagni; one brother, Roland Stagni; and two sisters, Ethel and Mildred Stagni.


He was born in Thibodaux, La., graduated from Thibodaux High School and from USL in Lafayette, La. He married Betty Lee Beary in 1951 and soon embarked on a long career in the accounting field. He was a notary public, and a Certified Public Accountant, working until his retirement to care for Betty Lee in her battle with diabetes. He will always be remembered as kind, generous and with a great sense of humor. He was a devout Catholic and believer of our Lord Savior Christ Jesus.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, at St. Joseph Cathedral in Thibodaux, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to his favorite charity-Organic Acidemia Association.

Landry’s Funeral Home of Thibodaux is in charge of arrangements.
