Lafourche Parish committee formed to fix jail woes

Cornelia M. “Kadil” Dupre, 91, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died Tuesday, April 8, at 12:25 p.m.
She is survived by her sons, Sidney Dupre and wife Helen and Terry J. Dupre and wife Fasie; half son, Walter Lapeyrouse; half daughters, Adeline Soudelier and Viley Picou; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul “Chute” Dupre; parents, Sidney Lirette and Modeste Cunningham Lapeyrouse; stepfather, Auther Lapeyrouse; stepbrothers, Levis, Alvin and Joseph Lapeyrouse; and half brother, Waldron Lapeyrouse.
She was Catholic, a member of the Altar Society and a member of the American Legion/VFW in Chauvin.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at St. Joseph Church in Chauvin with mass to follow. She will be buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
