Curtis Joseph Ledet, Sr., 86, a native of Westwego, La., and a resident of Bourg, La., died Sunday, January 20, 2008, at 1:18 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eve Ledet; one son, Curtis Ledet, Jr.; three daughters, Barbara St. Amant, Marla Theriot and Anita Britt; one brother, Elie Ledet; one sister, Mayola Plaisance; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Elie Sr. and Elda Bergeron Ledet; one daughter, Bonnie Bonvillain; five brothers, Russell, Marvin, Harold, Frank and Albert Ledet; and sisters Cecilia Allemand and Margie Rodrigue.

Curtis served in World War II and received a purple heart. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008, and 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., with the funeral to follow Thursday. He will be buried at Rogers Cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
