Cynthia Jean Mary Falgout Charpentier, age 66, a native of Bourg, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died the morning of Friday, August 8.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dale Lawrence Charpentier; three sons, Kurt, James (Jimmy), and Robert (Bobby) Charpentier; four daughters, Dale (Monica) LeBoeuf, Cindy Stutts, Pamela (Pam) Folse, and Susan (Susie) Knight; her mother, Adeline Bascle Falgout; three brothers, Nolan Jr., Errol and Lionel Falgout, four sisters, Jewell Breaux, Miriam Sampey, Rhoda Boquet, and Charlene Freiwald; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Nolan Thomas (Dogris) Falgout; one brother, Glen Joseph Falgout; and one granddaughter, Heather Charpentier.

Through the local TV commercials in which she and her family promoted their John Deere business, she became known as the “yee hah” lady; but, she will best be remembered for her faith-filled and courageous 6 year battle with Lipo-Sarcoma Cancer.

She was a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, attended Bible studies conducted by Kerry Bueche at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and was a member of “Nosotros”- a local cancer support group, which is lovingly led by Raul Doria, M.D.

In lieu of flowers, it is graciously requested that donations be made to Bayou Region Hospice, 195 Corporate Drive, Houma, La. 70360, a local non-profit agency which nobly affords care for the terminally ill as well as solace and guidance to the family.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cancer Care Specialists for opening their arms and hearts and all those who offered prayers and provided support.

She was buried at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Bourg.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
