Daisy McKenzie

Daisy Mae McKenzie, 58, a native of Woodsville, MS and a resident of Avondale, La. died Friday, August 24, 2007, at 6:25 p.m.

She is survived by her mother, Celest McKenzie; seven brothers, Morris McKenzie and his wife Gloria, John McKenzie, Jr. and his wife Erma, Jesse McKenzie, Sr. and his wife Duann, Sam, Isaac, and Charles McKenzie, Sr. and his wife Kimberly; and seven sisters, Katie White, Thelma McKenzie, Alice Brock, Diane Boserman and her husband DeVance III, Yolanda Carter and her husband Bryant, Pamela McKenzie, and LaShaune Miller and her husband John.

She was preceded in death by her father, John McKenzie, Sr.

Daisy was a devout Baptiste and a member of Second Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was with Orleans Parish School Board for 33 years, Catholic Charities, and the Recovery School District.

Visitation is Saturday, September 1, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Church in Marrero, La. She will be buried in Restlawn Cemetery in Avondale.

Rhodes Funeral Home of New Orleans, La. is in charge of arrangements.
