Daniel Joseph Brunet, 64, a native of Bourg, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, July 19.


He is survived by his wife, Linda Mazerac Brunet of Houma; two daughters, Kimetha Brunet Broussard and husband Chad of Katy, Texas, and Annie Brunet Salazar and husband Jeremy of Lafayette, La.; five brothers, Rufus Bourg, Carroll Brunet, Gerald Brunet, Theodore Brunet and Bert Brunet; four sisters, Joyce Price, Evelyn LeBouef, Sheryl Lee Nelton and Ruby Ann Pirtle; and four grandchildren, Alexis Ann Broussard, Brennan Chad Broussard, Ella Elizabeth Salazar and Emma Elise Salazar.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore Joseph Brunet and Ruby Bourg Brunet; two brothers, Edward Brunet and Barry Brunet; and one sister, Yvonne Pitre.

He received an engineering degree from Nicholls State University. He retired from the U.S. Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was a retired drilling and completion consultant with DJB Consultants. He will be watching over his children and grandchildren from heaven.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at St. Ann Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery in Houma.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
