Darryl Lynn Holmes, 50, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, August 14.
He is survived by his wife, Daphne H. Harris; his father, Clarence P. Holmes Sr.; one daughter, Darrlynn D. Holmes; one brother, Oliver W. Holmes; three sisters, Daphine H. Ellis and husband Gregory, Lisa M. Holmes and Lana L. Holmes; and one grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Nora Bolden Holmes; brother, Clarence Holmes Jr.; and his grandparents, Webster and Laura Holmes and Julia and Clarence Bolden.
He was a truck driver with Halliburton, Alpha Chemical Co. and Semar. He was a member of New Rising Sun Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 22, at Community Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at New Rising Sun Baptist Church. He will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
