Deme Michel Naquin Sr., 82, a native and resident of Isle of Jean Charles, La., died Thursday, February 19.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Naquin, Donnie Ray Naquin Sr., Lester Naquin, Harold Naquin and wife Debra, and Deme “J.R.” Naquin Jr. and wife Sheena; daughters, Annaray Cotton and Bert Naquin; brothers, Pierre and Albert Naquin; sisters, Nolia Dupre, Anzelie Dardar and Denecia Billiot; 22 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma F. Naquin; parents, Adam and Valarine Bourg Naquin; brothers, Harry, Gabriel, Simon, Gustave and Bernard Naquin; and two infant daughters.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, February 22, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, February 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut, La. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial at St. Charles Cemetery in Pointe-aux-Chenes, La.
