Dennis J. Daigle Sr., 94, a native of Napoleonville, La., and resident of Marrero, La., died on Dec. 17, 2009.


Mr. Daigle built and operated his own restaurant and boarding house until he became manager of the John-Mansville Cafeteria. He retired from J.P. Library after 10 years of service.


He is survived by his children, Dennis Jr. (Harriet “Sam”), Jeanie Theriot, Ronnie (Cynthia), Clifton “C.J.” (Jane), Margaret “Peggy” (Dutch) Trosclair, Ursin “Buddy” (Lynette) Daigle and Lauretta (Larry) Smith; siblings, Honore (Beulah) Daigle, Mabel LeJeune and Rose Mary Naquin; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Clement Daigle; daughter, Patsy; granddaughter, Christi; great-great-grandchild, Dutch III; mother and father, Ursin and Foustine Daigle; and siblings, Felix and Guilton Daigle and Levie Blanchard.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Eagan Home Health and Vital Hospice.

He is buried at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Westwego.
