February 2, 2010Dennis M. Spiers, M.D., of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, in Pensacola, Fla.
Dr. Spiers practiced psychiatry for more than 37 years in Virginia, Pennsylvania and Louisiana. He was an avid reader and trivia buff with a photographic memory.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherry Cobb Spiers; aunt, Polly Mashburn Jones; sister-in-law, Barbara Ramsey Spiers; children, Daphne (Steven) Whitley, Bronwyn (Craig) Morgan and Michael (Haley) Spiers; and seven granddaughters, Blakelyn Spiers, Ruby Morgan, Emmie Morgan, Gracie Whitley, Miley Spiers, Abigail Whitley and Michaela Spiers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tally and Ruby Mashburn Spiers; and brother, Kerry Spiers.
