Don Hamner Coyle, 89, a native of Springhill, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014.


Mr. Coyle was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served 18 years in the Naval Reserve. He worked most of his career in the oil and gas service industry. He was a man who lived life to the fullest and was a friend to all.

He is survived by his sons, Randy (Claire) and Gregory (Michelle) Coyle; daughters Mary Roden and Marcella (Steve) England; brother, Kenneth Coyle; sister, Peggy Holley; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Coyle; brothers, Odell and Louis Coyle; and sister, Jeanie Wedgeworth.


Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at Chauvin Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
