Donald Amos Sr., 73, a native of Belle Alliance, La., and resident of Belle Rose, La., died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.


Mr. Amos was a member of First Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose.


He is survived by his daughters, Mary (Nolan) Smith, Angela (Martin) Stephens and Monice (Edward) Tannis; sons, Donald Jr. and Donnell (Ferlisha) Amos, Mark Davis and Keldric Jupiter; sisters, Sandra Barker and Ruthy and Patricia Amos; 33 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Amos; second wife, Matilda Amos; parents, Mark Sr. and Ruby Amos; brothers, Anthony, Mark Jr. and Clarence Amos; daughters, Lydia Johnson and Trinette Boatner; and stepchildren, Elijah Jr. and Cherrise Cooks.

Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at First Israel Baptist Church with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Kennedy)
