Dorothy Guidry Bonnette, 92, a native of Bourg, La., and resident of Houma, La., and Houston, died at 3:15 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.

Mrs. Bonnette was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church.


She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bonnette Porter of Houston; grandchildren, Kevin, Shanon and Heather McAuliffe; great-grandchildren, Korbin, Kenlee and Krislyn McAuliffe; and sisters in Christ, Goldie Whipple Jouandot and Joycelyn Cook.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ramie John Bonnette; parents, Isaac and Blanche Guidry; brothers, Aaron, Ishmael and Alvin Guidry; sisters, Beatrice Townsend and Leola Cinquemani; and sisters in Christ, Mary Eve Bascle and Nancy Pierron Fabre.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Boys & Girls Country, 18806 Roberts Road, Hockley, Texas, 77447, are appreciated. The facility cares for underprivileged, neglected and orphaned children.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, 1005 Williams Ave., in Houma. The Rev. Shenan Boquet will conduct Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 4351 La. 24, in Bourg.

She will be buried at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
