Dorothy Dufour Lorio, 94, a native of Plaucheville, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Friday, March 18, 2011.
Mrs. Lorio enjoyed helping others through her nursing career and volunteer work. She was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Hilary Church, a member of the Lay Carmelite Third Order and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She is survived by her son, Lester (Patchie) Haydel and wife, Patchie; brother, Kermit Dufour; two grandchildren, Angele (Chad) Davis and Mandy (Lonnie) Crochet; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip H. Lorio; parents, Dennis and Ida Mae Robert Dufour; and three brothers, J.C., Ralph and Dennis Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Abbey and Seminary, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457.
She is buried at at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. (Falgout)
