Dorothy Mae Sterling, 59, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Wednesday, October 22.

She is survived by her fiance, Russell Gaudet; her father, Isaac Perkins Sr. of Thibodaux; her stepmother, Edna Perkins of Thibodaux; two daughters, Doris M. Brown of Houma, La., and Lois A. Brown of New Orleans La.; nine brothers, Isaac “Felix” Brown of Houma, William Brown, Lionel Moore, Glenn Moore, Michael Moore, Isaac Perkins Jr., David Perkins, Ronald Perkins and Chucky Holly of Milwaukee, Mn.; four sisters, Diana Brown of Raceland, La., Cheryl A. Moore, Patricia Moore and Cynthia Moore; one stepsister, Reginal Birdis Williams of Thibodaux; four stepbrothers, Reginal Birdis, Kennith Birdis, Roderick Birdis and Rodney Birdis; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sterling; her mother, Cora Brown; and one sister, Rosemary Brown.

She was Baptist.

She was buried at Moses Baptist Church Cemetery No. 2.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
