Dorothy Shelby

Dorothy Eugene Shelby, 94, a native of Orange, TX, and a resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Thursday, August 30, 2007, at 1:25 p.m.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Eugene Turner; one sister Joyce Harvey; one nephew, Ernest Amos; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Turner; her second husband, John Shelby; her parents, Guy and Hattie Jones Shelton; and one sister, Margaret Johnson.

Dorothy was a devout Presbyterian.

Visitation is Friday, August 31, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 1, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, La. She will be buried in Cheramie Cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
