Douglas Paul Bodmer, a native of Mendota, Ill., and resident of Gibson, La., died Sunday, May 11, 2014.


Mr. Bodmer was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Ware and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Ann Bodmer; sons, Douglas Donnelly and Jerry Jr., Anthony Sr., Don and David Sr. LeBlanc; daughters, Tanya Swindle, Beth and Katrina Fischer and Mary Pearce; brothers, Duane, Bill, Den and Eugene Bodmer; sisters, Candy Riegle and Barbara Smith; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Rita Bodmer; and one grandchild.  


Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery. (Chauvin)
