Douglas Phillip “Tattoo” Blanchard Sr., 76, a native of Cut Off, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Tuesday, July 28, at 2:20 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Merna Lasseigne Blanchard; one son, Douglas “T-Doug” Blanchard Jr. and wife Cathy; one daughter, Sonya B. Cheramie and husband James “Zoe”; three brothers, Walton “ToTo” Blanchard, Claude Blanchard and Roger “Bobie” Blanchard; one sister, Joyce Terrebonne; six grandchildren, Page Abadie, Kris Cheramie, Casey Cheramie, Joy Blanchard, Emily Blanchard and Jake Blanchard; and three great-grandchildren, Justin and Jerin Savoie and Zoey Cheramie.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Flerita Terrebonne Blanchard; three brothers, Royce, Allen and Harry Blanchard; two sisters, Peggy Honeyfield and Grace Cheramie; and one grandchild, Karlie Blanchard.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, July 31, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano with the funeral service to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
