Dr. Richard Albert Morvant Sr., 85, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Thursday, July 23.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, June Paine Morvant; four daughters, Martha Louise Morvant, Elise Marie Morvant, Anne Claire Morvant and Christian Perago, and Denise Marie Brown and husband Mike; three sons, Richard Albert Morvant Jr., John Curtis Morvant, and William Andrew Morvant and wife Rhonda Waguespack Morvant; one sister, Marion Morvant McNamara; and 16 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camille Augustin and Lilly Hotard Morvant; one brother, Robert Donald Morvant; one daughter, Mary Linda Morvant; and two sons, Lawrence Daniel Morvant and Louis Henry Morvant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Brothers of Sacred Heart, 4600 Elysian Fields Ave., New Orleans, 70122, or E. D. White Catholic High School, 555 Cardinal Dr., Thibodaux, 70301.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 27, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
