Duffy Paul Bouvier, 93, a resident of Lockport, La., and a native of Larose, La., died 9 a.m., Nov. 13, 2006.


Visitation will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, and from 8 to 12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport.

Mass will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2006, at Holy Rosary Cemetary in Larose with the burial in the cemetary.


He is survived by two sons, Alfred and wife Jeannette Bouvier of Lockport and Paul and wife Sandy Bouvier of Raceland, La.; one step-son, Carlton J. and wife Myra Cheramie of Thibodaux, La.; four daughters, Georgia B. Dufrene of Gheens, Laura Lee B. Danos and husband Robert of Lockport, Lola B. Eschette and husband Ray of Lockport, Susie B. Robichaux and husband Timothy of Raceland; 22 step-grandchildren; 41 grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Enola J. Hebert Bouvier; second wife, Gladys Plaisance Cheramie Bouvier; his parents, Henri and Laurenza Pierce Bouvier; one son, Henry Bouvier; son-in-law, Robert J. Dufrene Sr.; three brothers, Ernest, Vorris, Henry Bouvier Jr.; two sisters, Henrietta Bouvier Gros and Lorraine Bouvier Gisclair; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a step-great-great-grandchild.

Mr. Bouvier was a parishoner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

He was one of the first truck farmers to sell on Grand Isle. He was also a trapper, a boat captain, an avid gardener, a state employee for seventeen years, a citrus orchard and crawfish farmer, and he owned and ran the Sunrise grocery store and the Sunrise rolling store.
