Dwight Wendell Reed, 46, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011.
Mr. Reed enjoyed baking and detailing cars. He also called the games at various bingo halls. He was a member of the Lion’s Club and Beautiful Zion Baptist Church.
He is survived his wife, Judy Reed; mother, Rebecca Whirl; daughter, Leslie Cooper; sons Dwight and Donovan Reed and Edward and Ronald Cooper; brothers, Wayne and Patrick Reed, Edward Bradley Jr., Darren Sylvan and Jerome, Alvin and Bobby Dorsey; sisters, Mary Reed, Cora Sylvan, Barbara Bradley, Ruby Watkins, Geraldine Dorsey, Jessie (Rev. Cary) Matthews and Margo (Johnny) Guillum; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Bradley Sr.; sister, JoAnn Jefferson; brother, Elton Dorsey; and grandparents, Ernest and Almita Reed.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Houma with religious services to follow. Burial will be at Halfway Cemetery. (Kennedy)
