March 27, 2013Earjie C. Knight, 90, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died Tuesday, March 19, 2013.
Mr. Knight was a disabled U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a salesman and retired as a self-employed carpenter. He dedicated his life to God and country, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a cattleman and an avid farmer and a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport.
He is survived by his sons, Courtland (Barbara), Earjie (Sue) and Durwood (Theresa) Knight and Thomas (Sheryl) Williams; daughters, Carva Layani, Carmella (Kenneth) Champagne and Katy (David) Stevens; sister, Ouida Pregeant; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ena Knight; parents, Ernest and Ella Knight; brothers, Lawrence and Ernest Knight; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Holy Savior Catholic Church with services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
