Earl John Brunet, 77, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010.


Mr. Brunet was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He worked at Southdown for 28 years before going to Raceland Sugars where he later retired.


He is survived by his wife, Ara Mae Trahan Brunet; daughter, Gwendolyn (James) Hunt of Magnolia, Ark.; three grandchildren, Brad (Daviona) and Kevin (Angela) Price and Shelly (Don) Smith; 11 great-grandchildren, Eden, Elise, Dylan, Addison, Austin, Kylie, Leah, Cameron, Carman, Ellen and Ethan; brothers, Roland, James and Royce Brunet.

He is preceded in by his parents, Paul and Clavia Bonvillain Brunet; son, Barry Anthony Brunet; and sister, Lucille Freeman.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 1, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

He will be buried at Bayou Black Cemetery.
