Earl Louis Mayon, 87, a native and resident of Morgan City, La., died Thursday, May 28.


He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Goldie M. Mayon; one daughter, Paulette C. Lipari and husband, Jake; one sister, Mazie Wilson and husband Fred; and two grandchildren, Jacob G. Lipari III and Nicholas G. Lipari. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Lenes Mayon; and one brother, Royal A. Mayon.

He was co-owner of Mayon Brothers Service Station for 30 years and was a U.S. World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus and AARP.

The family would like to thank the administrators and employees of the Suites of Sugar Mill and Hospice of South Louisiana for their care and support.

Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, at Sacred Heart Church in Morgan City, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at Morgan City Cemetery.
