Early “Pic” Rogers, 81, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Tuesday, March 4, 2014.


Mr. Rogers was a veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing and bingo. He was the only person to bowl a perfect game at Bayou Country Lanes.

He is survived by his wife Elvida Rogers; sons, Joey (Robin) and Michael (Lynn) Rogers; daughters, Elizabeth (Joe) Diaz and Rebecca (Cory) Danos; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anidas Rogers and Victoria LeBlanc; stepfather,Charlie LeBlanc; and siblings Gillis Rogers, Myrtle Pitre, Pearl Dufrene and Odille Trosclair.


Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 6, and 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial at the church cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
