Eddie Paul “Tip” Babin Jr., 74, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, August 5, at 12:30 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Marion Grow Babin.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Paul Babin Sr. and Vernice Pitre Babin; and one brother, Rudolph Babin.

He retired from Halliburton after 30 years of service. He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. He was a Past Grand Knight of St. Gregory Knights of Columbus Council 6170, a Past Faithful Navigator of Father Vandebilt Assembly 2322, the Diocese Knight of Columbus Chairman for Veterans Affairs, a member of St. Gregory’s Hospitality Usher Ministry, and a volunteer at Houma’s Veterans Outpatient Clinic.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, August 7, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery #2.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
