Edith “Maw Maw” Plaisance, 91, a native of Gheens, La., and long time of Gretna, La., died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010.
Mrs. Plaisance operated Plaisance Bar in Gretna for many years.
She is survived by her children, Loyce (George Sr.) Burnetz, Larry (Rose), Mensy Jr. (Priscilla) and Mickey (Sadie) Plaisance; eight grandchildren, George Burnetz Jr., Lisa DiPascal, Deanna Patecek, Meka Toups, and Larry Jr., Ricky, Clint and Mickey Jr. Plaisance; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and five of her 14 siblings, Ester Rodriguez, Velma Arabie, Toney and Gilbert Plaisance and Elsie Matherne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mensy Plaisance; parents, Alexis and Emilie Dufrene Plaisance; one child, Autrey Plaisance; and one grandchild, Bernadine Williams.
She is interred Westlawn Memorial Park.
