Edna Mae Westbrook Smith Guilfore, 87, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, April 27, 2008.


She is survived by her daughters, Ruby Mae McGuire and husband Taylor, Hilda Mae Marshall and husband Lamuel, Wilma McGuire and Nashonna McGuire; sister, Leola McGuire and husband Eugene; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Guilfore; parents,,William Westbrook, Sr. and Carrie Hite Westbrook; son, Clarence Smith, Jr.; granddaughters, Janice Howard, Elaine Vincent and Stephanie Smith; grandsons, Ronald McGuire, Barriet Madison and Terrance Marshall; great-grandson, Brandson Smith; brothers, Albert Westbrook, Sr. and William Westbrook, Jr.; and grandparents, Rebecca Williams & Mose Hite.

She was a member of New St. Matthews Baptist Church, a member of the Foster Grandparent Program and a former Sunflower Chapter 2005 of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed walking.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at New St. Matthews Baptist Church in Houma with the funeral to follow. She will be buried at Cresent Farm Cemetery

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
