Edward “E.J.” Joseph Chauvin, Jr., 73, a native and resident of Bourg, La., died at 5:16pm Saturday, May 26, 2007.


He is survived by three daughters, Vickie Chauvin of Bourg, Lisa M. Chauvin of Coconut Creek, FL., and Andree’ Chauvin- Souders of Longmont, CO.; two sisters, Nettie Chauvin- Button of Bourg and Betty Chauvin- Bramblett of Manchester, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Lena Boquet Chauvin of Bourg and his brother Anthony Chauvin of Bourg.


Mr. Chauvin graduated from Terrebonne High School in 1952 and attended Tulane University on a football scholarship. He worked for the Abel Corporation and Sunbeam Bakery and was a co-owner of the Moosa and Professional Printing of Houma for over 15 years. He served as a real estate appraiser and then served as Chief Deputy Clerk of Court in Nashville, TN for over 20 years. He returned to Bourg in 1999, where he was a devout Catholic as a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church. He was an active member and past President of the Bourg Loins Club.

Mr. Chauvin enjoyed the culinary arts and loved to hunt and fish.

His family and the many other people whose lives he touched during his life will sadly miss him.
