Edward Joseph Dupre, 90, a native and resident of Montegut, La., died Tuesday, August 7, 2007, at 6:10 p.m.


He is survived by four sons, Herbert Dupre and his wife Cathy, Wilbert Dupre and his wife Merrile, Ivy Dupre and his wife Geraldine, and David Dupre and his wife Elaine; one daughter, Wilma St. Amant; one brother, Alley Dupre; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie LeBouef Dupre; his parents, Joseph Dupre and Carrie Usie Dupre; one son-in-law, Noe’ St. Amant; one brother, Allen Dupre; and three sisters, Mae LeBouef, Leolia Martin and Lela Leonard.

Edward was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a retired tugboat captain with Texaco, Exxon and Crochet Towing.

Visitation is Thursday, August 9, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at Montegut Fire Station and Friday, August 10, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He will be buried in Bisland Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
