Edward “Pops” Roberson Sr., 71, a native of Mounds, LA. and a resident of Bayou Blue, LA., died at 6:55 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland, LA. and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. A mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his son, Phillip Roberson Sr. and wife, Debra; his daughters, Denise R. Istre and husband, David, and Dorothea R. Johnson and husband, Shedrick; his sisters, Dorothy R. Paul and husband, Donald; his grandchildren, Phillip Jr. and Edward Lee Roberson, Jason Istre, and Shedreanna Johnson; three step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda “Granny” LeBlanc Roberson; his parents, Willie and Julia Hodge Roberson; his son, Edward Roberson Jr.; his brothers, W. Carroll, James, and Richard Lovell Roberson; and his sisters, Shirley Ann D’Amico.

He was a parishoner of St. Louis Catholic Church in Bayou Blue.

He served in the U.S. Army.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Shriners Children Hospital in Shrevport, LA. or the Shriners Burn Hospital, 815 Market St., Galveston, TX.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
