Edward Ronald Herron Sr., 67, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, July 18.


He is survived by his wife, Valarie Degruise Herron of Houma; one son, Edward Ronald Herron Jr. and wife Jodi; two daughters, Sandra Marie Meche and husband Kevin, and Linda Lee Courteaux and husband Mark; five grandchildren, Stacie and Blake Herron, Nicholas and Megan Meche, and Zachary Courteaux; and one great-grandchild, Addison.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Herron and mother, Irene Wells Vaux.


He was the owner of The Factory Coffee Shop, after 30 years he retired and it is now Big Eddie’s Cafe. He and his wife, Valarie established Special Tees Shirt Shop. Edward loved music, cars and building projects. He was a founder of the Selucrey Sophistocats Marching Club and a past member of the Krewe of Hercules.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Heart Association and American Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at Chauvin Funeral Home.
