Edwis Charles Chabert, 83, a lifelong resident of Cut Off, La. died Friday, October 19, 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Louverda Duet Chabert; one son, Bill Chabert, Sr. and his wife Merril; three daughters, Patty Adams and her husband Jerry, Mary Smith and her husband Ulous, and Wanda Chighizola; one brother, Elvis Al Chabert; four sisters, Emilia Pitre, Vivian Mayet, Nina Bourg and Dora Curole; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ellia Terrebonne Chabert; two sons, infant John and Don Chabert; and one grandchild, Bonnie Chabert.

Edwis was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. He served his country in the military during World War II and was a retired bus driver with the Lafourche Parish School Board.

Falgout Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
