May 27, 2010Egbert Joseph “Pappy” Mason, 76, a native of Morgan City, La., and a longtime resident of Patterson, La., died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Terrebonne General Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
Born Christmas Eve, Mr. Mason was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he frequently served as a reader, the Knights of Columbus and the Morgan City chapter of AARP. He retired from Shell Oil Company and was the owner-operator of Mason’s Seafood Dock in Berwick.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lapeyrouse Mason; daughters Patricia (Johnny) Templet and Angela (Thomas) Dupre; brother, Manuel (Catherine) Mason; and sisters, Alice Thibodeaux, Hilda Hebert and Elizabeth (Thomas) Rhodes; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is buried at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum in Patterson.
