January 9, 2012Evangelist Elaine Marie Harkins, 59, a resident of Morgan City, La., died at 12:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012.
Ms. Harkins attended the United Theological Seminary and Bible College and earned the Degree of Diploma of Theology in May 2008 and a Bachelors Degree of Theology in May 2009. She led a private life and those who knew her well loved her dearly. She was a kind and giving person and loved to go shopping mostly for others.
She is survived by her aunts, Bernie Evans and Wilhemina Howard; uncle, Reverend Peter Mickens; half-sister, Gertie Eugene; and a host of relatives, friends and colleagues.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Dorsey and Charles Harkins; and grandmother, Alberta Dorsey.
Burial was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Jones)
