Elgin Conley “E.C.” Rogers, 80, a native and resident of Bayou Blue, La., died Thursday, October 16.
He is survived by his wife, Velma Landry Rogers; three sons, Samuel Rogers and wife Diane, Elgin Rogers Jr. and wife Wanda, and Scott Rogers and wife Hope; three daughters, Marsha Callahan and husband Randy, Lisa Robichaux and husband Craig, and Druscilla Allen and husband Kerry; one brother, Edgar Rogers; four sisters, Shirley Arceneaux, Rita Landry, Dolores Kraemer and Deres Songe; 19 grandchildren, Samuel Rogers Jr., Clint Rogers, Shayln Davenport, Dennis Rogers, Chad Rogers, Benji Rogers, Mindi Rogers, Alida Young, Becky Ponthier, Adam Callahan, Chase Callahan, Jessica Robichaux, Monica Robichaux, Quinton Allen, Shelby Allen, Russell Rogers, Meaghan Rogers, Kendall Rogers and Jordan Rogers; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Evest and Anaise Martin Rogers; one son, Mark Rogers; and two brothers, Junius Rogers and Norman Rogers.
He was a retired superintendent and a Methodist.
He was buried at Rogers Cemetery in Bayou Blue.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
