February 25, 2011Elizabeth “Mama Elizabeth” Exnouch Nelson, 93, a native of Belle Rose, La., and resident of the Peterville Community, died at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker, and a loyal and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her sons, Eddie Jr. (Mary), Louis Sr. (Rita) and Emile (Monica) Nelson; seven daughters, Emilie, Ethelee and Natalie Nelson, Rosalie (William) Alexander, Lucille (Percy) Lawless, Louella (Michael) Harrison and Loretta (Gerald) Larvadain; daughter-in-law, Theresa Nelson; 50 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 47 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie “Stack” Nelson Sr.; parents, Louise Fredrick and Peter Sims; one son, Edwin Nelson; one daughter, Louise Lotten; one brother, Rev. Eddie Sims; one sister, Annie Sims Brown; one daughter-in-law, Mary Janice Nelson; one granddaughter, Cynthia Lotten; two gransons, Curtis and Lloyd Jr. Lotten; and one son-in-law, Lloyd Lotten Sr.
She is buried at St. Charles Baptist Church Cemetery. (Williams and Southall)
