Elizabeth “Bep” Johanna Zandvliet-Damen, a native of the Netherlands and resident of Houma, La., died Monday June 6, 2011.


Ms. Zandvliet-Damen was born in Haarlem, Holland in 1929 and survived German occupation of the Netherlands during World War II. She met Gerard Damen in their native Holland, married in 1951 and then moved to America. She was a loving wife and loyal and loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.


She is survived by her husband, Gerard Damen; children, Lisa, John (Tineke), Randle and Hanson (Cathy) Damen and Louise Frederick; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robin Damen.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent DePaul.

Interment was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. (Chauvin)
