Ella Mae “Granny” Charles, 83, a native of Lockport, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died Tuesday, March 15, 201.
Mrs. Charles was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and of the Debonair Club. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Larry (Delores), Donald, Vernon and Lorne Charles; daughters, Agnes Hampton, Jennifer Charles, Simmone (Jerome) Jackson, Donisha (Ronald) Jules and Michelle Charles; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Charles; parents, Jordan and Ella Batiste; and one daughter, Lydia Charles.
She is buried at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery. (Gertrude Geddes Willis-Terrebonne)
