Elmira Sylvester, 76, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Tuesday, July 12, 2011.
Mrs. Sylvester was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph, Willie Jr. and Leroy Sylvester and Donald Williams; daughters, Sandra and Diane Sylvester; and sister, Rosa Tucker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Sylvester Sr.; parents, Willie Sr. and Margaret Williams; daughters, Sharlene and Carolyn Sylvester; brother, Harold Turner; and sister, Mildred Harris.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at New Vision Christian Community Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Young Ladies Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland. (Kennedy)
