Elnora Reado Smith, 87, a native and resident of Raceland, LA., died at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 4, 2007.


Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Wake service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


She is survived by three sons, the Rev. Nolan Smith, Sr. and wife, Mary Ann, Albert Smith, Sr. and wife, Julia, and Howard Smith, Sr., all of Raceland; two daughters, Gladys Smith Triggs of Raceland and Bernice Smith Marts and husband, Clarence, of Larose, LA.; 19 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Smith; her parents, Benjamin and Francis Reado; one son, Burrel Smith; two brothers, Ezekiel Reado and Henry Reado; and two sisters, Stella Thomas and Albertha Hester.

She was a member of Third Zion Baptist Church, served as Mother of the Church and was on the Deaconess Board.

Kennedy Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
