Elsie Bergeron Champagne Rich, 78, a native of Chauvin, La., died Wednesday, May 21, 2014.
Mrs. Rich enjoyed fishing, shrimping, hunting, traveling, bowling, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Shirley), Bruce Sr. (Mary) and Jerry (Diana) Champagne; brothers, Floyd, Melvin (Shirley), Terry, Lanny and Algier Bergeron; sisters, Janet (Don) Wells and Meril Allen; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Champagne; second husband, Charles Rich; parents, Stanley Sr. and Doris Bergeron; brothers, Rev. Stanley Jr. and Elton Bergeron; and one grandchild.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at Chauvin Funeral Home with Liturgy of the Word to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. (Chauvin)
