June 30, 2010Elsie Verdin Parfait, 81, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 6:20 p.m. Friday, June 25, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Kirby P. Parfait; children, Earl (Cherrel), John (Katie), Larry (Gina), Lynn (Tina), Chris (Ellen) and Terry (Stephanie) Parfait, Virgie (Paul) Foret and Sharon (Roy) Foret; 19 grandchildren, McKay Matherne, Marci Brunet, Jessica Williams, Melissa Chauvin, Jason Brown, Tonya Allemand, Tony Foret, Lizzy Mallard, Joretta Luke, Karey Parfait, Erika Gautreaux, Samantha Naquin, Alyssa Parfait, Roy Foret Jr., Summer Ratcliff, Channing Parfait, Terry Parfait Jr., Clarissa Lanegrasse and Kelsey Bergeron; 25 great-grandchildren, Victoria and Cameron Matherne, Morgan, McKenzie and Madison Brunet, Joshua Jones and Andrew Williams III, Elizabeth and Brennan Chauvin, Lindsay and Emily Allemand, Alayna and Payton Foret, Kylah and Logan Mallard, Heidi Luke, Erin and Joshua Martin, Lexis Crow, Ethan and Layne Gautreaux, Carter Ratcliff, Ashton and Cash Lanegrasse and Brylee Adams; and one sister, Anna Mae Evangelista.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bernice Theriot Verdin; five sisters, Alice Parfait, Gladys Frederick, Alexina Rennick, Rose Gautreaux and Perlie Francis; four brothers, Oris, Andrew, Elgin and Irvin Verdin; and one granddaughter, Cassidy Jade Parfait.
She is buried at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery.
