Elvira Barbara Theriot, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, July 15, 2011.


Mrs. Theriot was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

She was a talented seamstress and animal lover.


She is survived by her son, Dusty (Janet) Theriot; daughters, Charlotte (Ronald) Hebert, Barbara (Joe) Boudreaux, Granada (Sterling) Bourg, Jacintia (Charlie) Bland and Cassandra (Guy) Courrege; sister, Norma Bergeron; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert Theriot; second husband, Allen Buquet Sr.; parents, Isaac and Liddie Babin; and sister, Sophie Babin.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
