Emelda Duet Hidalgo, 89, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Thursday, June 5.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Sirois; three sisters, Inez Traigle and husband, Nolan, Loretta Aucoin and husband, Carroll, and Hilda Duet; and three grandchildren, Angela S. Giroir and husband, Tim, John Sirois and wife, Kathy, and Kirk Sirois and wife, Connie; five step-great-grandchildren; two step-great-great-grandchildren; a numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Aline Gross Duet and Orphe Duet; three brothers, Chester Duet, Hugh Duet, and Lawrence Duet Sr.; three sisters, Mildred Boudreaux, Doris Gibson, and Elizabeth Ordoyne; and one son-in-law, James E. Sirois.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 8, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Labadieville, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
