Emile “Blue” Vuillemont, 77, a native of Opelousas, La., and a resident of Cut Off, La., died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, September 29.


He is survived by his wife, Louella Thomassie Vuillemont; one daughter, Cindy Shaner; one half-sister, Caroline Blanchard; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Gladys D’Avy Vuillemont.


He was an unrecognized veteran of the Korean Conflict and was Catholic.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

He was buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery in Larose, La.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
