Eric John Verret, 40, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Austin, Texas, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

Mr. Verret was a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He was an employee of Freescale Semiconductor as an electrical engineer. He was a wonderful and caring man. His main interests were centered on his family in cooking, playing and caring for them. He loved spending time with extended family and friends as much as he loved being alone with his son and wife. Eric was a happy person and made any room light up when he entered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Lee Anne Verret; son, Rustin Verret; brother, Jody (Missie) Verret; niece, Allyson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Leslie and Randall Nutter and Mary Lisa and Tom Bell; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Debby Robichaux Verret.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rustin John Verret Fund at any Chase Bank (reference # 2979461437). (Weed-Corley-Fish of Austin, Texas)
