Ernest Jean Guidroz, 90, a native and resident of Larose, La., died Tuesday, September 11, 2007.


He is survived by two sons, Hamilton “Buck” Guidroz and Ernest “Jimmy” Guidroz, Jr.; two daughters, Carolyn Guidry and Linda LeBlanc; one brother, Irvin Guidroz; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Enid A. Bouvier Guidroz; his parents, Ores and Zoe Richoux Guidroz; four brothers, Felix, Sidney, Harris and Silvere Guidroz; three sisters, Elvila Morvant, Nora Adams and Jeanne Chiasson; one grandson, Jared Jean Paul Guidroz; and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Taylor LeBlanc.


Ernest was a veteran of World War II serving Asiac and Pacific theatre. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lafourche School Bus Association, a past member of the VFW, and a member of the Holy Name Society.

He is buried in Holy Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery, with interment in the church mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Dominican Contemplative Sisters of Lockport or the American Diabetes Association.
